Yesterday I watched BEE manically tweet the first notes of a possible continuation of American Psycho, with flashbacks to Patrick Bateman's early years before his Wall Street job and reflections on Facebook and Kim Kardashian (he loves her, of course). He also hates Dexter, for stealing his name*.
Here's a screengrab of tweeted notes: i.imgur.com/SgeIM.jpg

Nomad X is now being published as a serial novel online. Trying to get this published via the traditional routes has been a long, arduous and ultimately fruitless journey. Out of about fifty promising indie presses, two showed genuine interest and pushed my manuscript to the “final rounds”. Starcherone books was considering it amongst five other manuscripts; it had been selected out of a slush pile of two hundred.
A month ago I got two passes in one day stating pretty much the same thing: that it was a difficult decision, that their readers were excited about it, that unfortunately they were going to have to pass because it did not quite fit their mold, being too political and unclassifiable.
Aqueous Books, another publisher that came close to considering my manuscript for publication made a blog post about my book and linked to the website I set up for it. The editor has also offered to host a gallery of Nomad X-themed artwork on her site. I’ll announce it here when it’s live.
The book is on part 5 right now, and is updated once a week on Friday. I expect to be done publishing it serially in about a month.
Plans for the future are uncertain. There will definitely be an enhanced e-book version. As for dead-tree version, there is a distinct possibility it will get published in slightly different form. But I don’t want to reveal the details just yet!
Nomad X: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 (to be continued…)
Read it all for free while you can. Enjoy!
I’m the author of Bedroom Revolutionaries, City of Crime and Nomad X (Atropos Press).
